Ukrainians eat with pleasure not only the national meals but also the meals of another countries cuisine. But Ukrainian meals are the most traditional ones and every house-wife can cook the following meals:
"Borsch" - something like soup made of the components: meat, potatoes, beats, cabbage, tomato sauce, sometimes beans. In spite of the same components, every house-wife has borsch of the special taste.
"Vareniki" - dumplings (with curd, meat, potatoes, cherries etc), boiled in water or steamed-made. Served usually with sour-cream. (One can get them at the food shops in great variety as semi-finished products)
"Pampushk"- small rolls, served with garlic sauce.
"Galushki"- pastry rolls, cooked and served with soup.
"Golubtsy"- rissole rolled in cabbage-leaves and cooked in sour-cream or tomato sauce.
